Kris Dhiradityakul joined G Adventures in 2008 as a South East Asia destination leader. He has been involved in the tourism and development industry for almost fifteen years, which has laid a strong foundation for his understanding of community development and the local effects of global tourism. Kris’s appreciation and passion for ethnicity, linguistics and local history continue to grow as he introduces more wide-eyed travelers to the wonders of South East Asia. For Kris, working with Planeterra means being a part of the global advocacy movement for sustainable tourism - a rewarding mission that presents many large challenges.
In the late 1990s, while pursuing his Political Science degree, Dhiradityakul followed his dream and became a volunteer with a small Thai NGO called REST-TVS. With REST-TVS, he assisted in carrying out responsible tourism initiatives and a comprehensive study of tourism in South East Asian communities. Dhiradityakul was later trained, and became and advocate of the 'Community Based Tourism' model. His additional academic degrees have increased his passion for developmental work, specifically in being able to use tourism as a tool to study and improve societies.
