ccaccaccollo community from the perspective of a traditional incan weaving aficionado
Recently one of our travellers, Cathy Schaffter, came back from Peru with enthusiasm and admiration for the women of the Ccaccaccollo community she visited on her trip. Some of her pictures are featured here. She was fascinated by the wool-making process. From natural products like seeds and beetles, to beautiful hues that dye the spun alpaca threads, the ancient Incan tradition is a treat to witness for any foreigner lucky to spend time in the Sacred Valley of Peru. Each rich colour is produced from a natural plant that the women find themselves and process as you can see here. Thanks so much to Cathy for her beautiful photos!
