Mashatu Wildlife Research Program
Location: Northern Tuli Wildlife Conservation Area, Botswana In the remote Eastern corner of Botswana lies the Tulli enclave; an area made up of a diverse wilderness, of savannah, forests, open plains and sandstone outcrops. The area is well known for its diverse wildlife, which includes elephants, lions, giraffe, cheetah and nearly 400 species of birds. Throughout this area, teams of researchers are working to document population and herd sizes, and the impact that changes in habitat has had on these different species.
Travellers who are interested in working alongside researchers in this area, can do so on our
Independent Project Botswana tour.
Donate to support Elephant ResearchDonations made to Planeterra will help provide tracking collars for this project, which will help researchers monitor the migration patterns and behavior of elephants in the Mashatu area.
