Latin America

Latin America is a region of spectacular contrasts with rich culture, sandy beaches, lush tropical rainforests, snow-capped mountains and vibrant cities. Despite all its riches, the reality is that a vast population of people living in Latin American countries live below the poverty line. 

Major issues affecting Latin American countries include the inability to afford education past the primary level, limited access to health care, and large populations of children who live and work on the streets. There is also a need for an increase in environmental and wildlife conservation programs, as well as initiatives that focus on giving communities the tools needed to break the cycle of poverty.

Planeterra works in partnership with local people and communities throughout Latin America with projects designed to alleviate each of these major issues at the grassroots level.
