Travelling through Rajasthan is like walking through a kaleidoscope of culture. Colours are dancing before your eyes: from the saris drying on riverbeds, to the sunsets of Udaipur to the spice market in Jodhpur, and the white marble of the Taj Mahal.

Participate in a five-day community volunteer project at the Bal Prakash Center, which focuses on the eradication of child labour by a meaningful blend of education and vocation.

With free time in New Delhi you can also choose to take part in an exciting city walk through the enchanting streets of the inner city of Paharganj and the New Delhi railway station led by a child who was once living and working on the streets. This walk takes travellers on a journey through the back streets of Delhi with a child who has been fully trained as a local guide.

Day 1

 Arrive Delhi
Arrive in Delhi at any time.

Day 2

 Ajmer
An early morning train takes us to the start of our Volunteer Project in the town of Ajmer.


 

Day 3-6

 Bal Prakash Project
Located in rural ambience, Bal Prakash offers the deprived and destitute children a free home, hearth and school.

Day 7

 Pushkar Day trip
Site of the world’s only temple to Brahma, Pushkar is often called "Tirth Raj:" the Raj (king) of pilgrimage centres.

Day 8

 Jodhpur
At Jodhpur, stark desert landscapes meet a riot of palaces, forts and temples, all enclosed within imposing city walls. 
Explore the nooks and crannies of Mehrangarh Fort to find its hidden charms and undiscovered lookouts.

 

Day 9-10

 Udaipur
Drive to Udaipur, one of the most whimsical and serene places in Rajasthan.
The jewel of the city is the Lake Palace, rising out of Lake Pichola.

Day 11-12

 Jaipur
Travel to the 'Pink City' of Jaipur. Visit India's second most viewed site, the Hawa Mahal, or Palace of the Winds. 
Follow in the footsteps of the royal harem, ride an elephant to the Amber Fort Palace.

Day 13

 Agra
Enroute to Agra, visit Fatehpur Sikri, the now deserted former capital of the Mughals and Itimad-ud-Daulah, the Baby Taj. 
Home to the Mughal kings for centuries, Agra also has some wonderful food specialties worth trying.
Petha are pieces of white pumpkin dipped in sugar syrup and Gajak is a crumbly sweet made with sesame and jaggery.

Day 14

 Delhi
Before returning to Delhi, we visit the site of India’s most famous landmark, the Taj Mahal. 
Rising before the sun to get the best light, we enter this white marble masterpiece. 
In Agra we also ride on one of the ubiquitous cycle rickshaws to visit the Red Fort.

Day 15

 Depart Delhi
