Day 1
Arrive LimaArrive in Lima at any time.
Day 2
Fly to CuzcoMorning flight to Cuzco where you will have free time to explore this friendly colonial town. Wind your way through the cobblestone streets and discover the nearby Inca ruins, markets, museums and churches.
Day 3-4
Community Volunteer ProjectSpend two days in a rural community home to Inca Trail Porters and a women’s weaving cooperative developed and supported by Planeterra. Participate in the daily life of local families. Activities may include planting, maintaining or harvesting crops, learning to weave, building construction and visiting the local school. During our stay we may also have the opportunity to make a permanent improvement in the health, comfort and standard of living of local families by helping to build a Peruvian cooking stove. Benefits of the stove include the removal of smoke from the kitchen, a 50% decrease of wood usage and the reduction of eye and lung infections especially among women and children. No building experience is required.

Day 5
CuzcoWe say goodbye to our host families and return to Cuzco with time to explore the city or shop for souvenirs in the colourful markets.
Day 6
OllantaytamboTravel with our local guide through the Sacred Valley and visit the majestic Pisac archaeological site. Continue to the last living Inca town of Ollantaytambo before preparing for the hike ahead.
Day 7-10
Inca TrailBegin a once in a lifetime journey on the ancient trail of the Incas with a morning trip to km 82, where our hike starts. Local porters and guides ensure that the trip is worry-free, and fascinating ruins and spectacular mountain scenery fill every day of the hike. On the final day, climb the steps to Intipunku, the 'Sun Gate', to watch the sunrise over Machu Picchu. Return to Cuzco by train in the afternoon.
