From our home base, we'll take day trips to the best sites Western El Salvador has to offer! Visit the country's most important archaeological sites including the pyramids of El Tazumal, Casa Blanca and the colonial city of Chalchuapa. Check out some local indigo and jade workshops, both considered to be sacred by the ancient Mayan civilization. Enjoy a tour of a Rainforest Alliance certified coffee farm to learn all there is to know about coffee from planting, to harvesting and roasting of the beans. Explore Laguna Verde, a beautiful crater lake in an extinct volcano, ringed with lush greenery, then visit several towns along the Ruta de Flores (the flower route) with opportunities to zipline and shop for local art and handicrafts.
