Spend a truly rewarding 9 days assisting a team of volunteers and researchers at Mashatu Game Reserve in Botswana.

Spend your days out in the African wilderness recording elephant populations, tracking leopards or monitoring lion behaviour.

Experience thrilling wildlife encounters on a deeper level, and aid the work of the researchers and experts who strive to understand the needs of these magnificent creatures and protect their precious habitat.

Use your free time to relax and unwind, and explore more of this rugged and beautiful bush paradise.

Day 1

 Johannesburg
Arrive in Johannesburg at any time where you are met and transferred to your hotel. The remainder of the day is free to explore the city on your own.

Day 2

 Mashatu Game Reserve
Early this morning we transfer across the border to Mashatu Game Reserve, a remote wilderness with an abundance of game, found in the eastern corner of Botswana. After reaching the camp, you will receive a briefing about the research projects then you will have free time to get settled. In the evening, join Mashatu's team of researchers and staff for dinner, along with other guests at the camp.

Day 3-7

 Volunteer at Mashatu Game Reserve
While at Mashatu Game Reserve we will have a rare opportunity to assist wildlife researchers and scientists with their elephant, leopard and lion conservation projects. You will work side-by-side with the researchers on a variety of projects in the wild. In addition, you will be able to enjoy some incredible wildlife viewing and safari experiences at a level rarely experienced outside the research field. Current research projects can include: monitoring elephant populations, social and environmental observations of lion prides and leopard behavior and tracking.

Day 8

 Johannesburg
Depart Mashatu early in the morning and return to Johannesburg for overnight.
