After several years of travelling, working, and volunteering in Latin America, my most memorable experiences are thanks to the local people I've met and friendships I've made along the way. Individuals, families and communities have welcomed me into their hearts and homes making me realize that the people who appear to have the least to give are the ones that have given me the most.
By taking the time to meet the local people in the destinations that we travel, we can begin to understand local realities and come away with invaluable life changing experiences.
I am extremely proud to work for G.A.P Adventures, a company that is committed to operating responsibly at all levels of its operations and am very happy to be a part of the Planeterra Foundation. By fostering partnerships in which local partners identify their needs, G.A.P Adventures and the Planeterra Foundation support locally based initiatives, helping make their goals a reality. Together with my passion for Planeterra projects, G.A.P's commitment to responsible tourism and support from our travellers and other donors, we can all work to give back to the people and places that have given us so much.

I believe our commitment to environmental sustainability and our support of local, grassroots community projects is an aspect of our company that sets us apart from other tour operators. We are always striving to ensure that our practices and day-to-day operations have limited negative environmental and social impacts at home in Canada, and abroad.
My prior experiences studying in Africa, and traveling through Latin America and the South Pacific have resulted in strong interests in community development and environmental conservation. Working in G.A.P's Sustainable Tourism Department and the Planeterra Foundation provides a wonderful opportunity to build upon these past experiences. Each day brings new challenges and extraordinary rewards!
