The Tides Canada Foundation manages our long-term endowment fund. Donations made to this fund are held for a period of at least ten years. During this time donations are invested by Tides Canada into ethical money market securities. Tides Canada 's investment philosophy is mission based with sound risk assessment guidelines and management structure. Management of this fund involves ethical screening, shareholder advocacy and provides investment opportunities in community based development. After a period of ten years donations made to the Planeterra endowment fund will be put towards the development of long-term community projects. Interest earned during the ten-year period may either be put towards the long-term goal or be used in the interim for grant-making purposes. Tides Canada provides tax receipts upon request for donations made to the Planeterra endowment fund for donors who are Canadian Tax Payers and who give gifts of $50 CAD or more.
